Raquel Chanto Viquez

Raquel Chanto’s research focuses on the relationship between the expansion of the global middle class and the fight against corruption. She has advised high-ranking officials in Costa Rica, the Organization of American States (OAS), and the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB). Raquel is a Doctoral candidate at the University of Oxford, where she has been the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship and the Wallace Watson Career Scholarship. Before starting her doctoral studies she was a Master’s student at Princeton, and she co-edited the 2016 volume Reformas Políticas en América Latina: Tendencias y Casos

Javier Pérez Sandoval

Javier Pérez Sandoval is Departmental Lecturer in Latin American Studies at the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies. He is also Stipendiary Lecturer in Politics at St Hugh’s College Oxford, and Academic Director for the Visiting Student Programme at Keble College, Oxford. He previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Manchester. His research has been recognized by the American Political Science Association and it has been published in Agenda Política and Perfiles Latinamericanos, along with several contributions to media outlets such as The Washington Post.

Anna Petherick

Anna Petherick is an Associate Professor in Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, where she teaches the core graduate politics course. Her research focuses on public policy and public institutions, corruption, gender, and trust, with much of it based in Brazil. Anna also directs the Lemann Foundation Programme at the School, a comparative research and engagement programme which generates and disseminates knowledge to improve the public sector and its associated institutions. During the pandemic, she was co-Principal Investigator of the Oxford COVID-19 Government Response Tracker (OxCGRT) project.

Gonzalo Contreras Aguirre

Gonzalo Contreras is a Political Scientist from Universidad Diego Portales (Chile) and a doctoral candidate at St Hugh’s College, University of Oxford. He teaches at Social Research Institute and the Q-Step Centre at University College London, where he also participates as a member of the ‘Centre for the Study of Media, Public Opinion and Politics in Chile’ (MEPOP). His work has been published in Democratization, Journal of Ethnic and Migrations Studies; Revista de Ciencia Politica; and Politica y Gobierno.
